Thank you to everyone who contributed to 2/2 for SVSU, our 8th annual day of giving. This year, the SVSU Foundation is asking donors to help students with fundamental and urgent needs by supporting three essential resources at SVSU:
|
- Student Emergency Fund: Financial assistance for unexpected emergencies such as vehicle repair, housing crisis, serious illness or a family member’s death.
- Cardinal Food Pantry: Healthy food to combat food insecurity, which impacts 41% of college students in the U.S.
- Cardinal Closet: Gently worn professional clothing, provided free of charge to students so their all-important first impressions can be positive.
- Generous matching gift sponsors are offering nearly $20,000 in matching and challenge funds, allowing donors to maximize the impact of their gift.

SVSU to present first full-length production of ‘Very Berry Dead’
|
Jose Perez IV, the author and director of Saginaw Valley State University’s next theatre performance, “Very Berry Dead,” is no stranger to the Great Lakes Bay Region. The multifaceted talent grew up in Saginaw, graduating from Nouvel Catholic Central before completing bachelor’s and master’s degrees in drama.
Saginaw Valley State University is proud to host the premiere of the show, which runs from Wednesday, Feb. 15 - Sunday, Feb. 19.
“It’s a real honor to have the world premiere production produced here at our university, to be able to help develop new theatrical work, and a unique opportunity for our students to work with the playwright and guest director” said Dave Rzeszutek, SVSU professor of theatre. “The experience is especially meaningful because Jose (Perez) grew up in Saginaw.”
