Mission

Student Success is at the heart of what we do at SVSU.

It represents our commitment to educating the whole student and giving students the tools to succeed, not just while at SVSU, but also in their careers and lives.

While everyone on campus contributes to student success, the strategic management of student success falls to the Student Success Council which developed through the 2024 SVSU Student Success Plan that was itself the result of SVSU’s participation in the Higher Learning Student Success Academy.

The mission of the council is to help with the planning, coordination, and assessment of student success initiatives around campus. Fundamental to this mission is the promotion of the 6 Dimensions of Student Success, which articulate the areas of development that are fundamental to student development at SVSU.
