The daily disciplined approach to VanBenschoten’s work is rooted in traditional leanings toward a love of paint and materials. Incorporating digital media with traditional techniques lends itself to the postmodern mixing of memes with historic undertones as he explores the relationship of figure to environment with humor, investigation and drama.
