Reception/Art Dept. Welcome Back Party: September 6th, 4 - 6 pm

This exhibition features work by SVSU Lecturer of Art, Phillip Hanson. The work in this exhibition focuses on manipulating the basics of design and drawing while also addressing the impact of technology on artistic practice. He received his B.F.A. in Painting from Grand Valley State University and his M.F.A. in Painting from Ohio State University. This exhibition is supported in part by Erie Custom Signs, Saginaw, MI.

Saints, Sinners & Spirit Invitational

September 17th - October 5th, 2018

This exhibition features artwork by regional artists invited by the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum to exhibit and donate work to support the Museum’s annual fundraising gala which includes a silent and live auction.

SVSU Art Alumni Show

October 10th - 31st, 2018
Reception: October 18th, 4 – 6 pm

This exhibition features work by Art Department alums with a Bachelor of Art or a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art, Visual Art Education, or Graphic Design. A variety of mediums will be showcased including but not limited to photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, graphic design and more.

November 8th - December 14th, 2018
Lecture: November 8th, 3 - 4 pm in A107
Reception: November 8th, 4 - 6 pm

This exhibition features work by Nicole Banowetz, an artist and educator working in inflatable sculpture. The work in this exhibition will highlight micro-organisms found within SVSU's Wetlands Preserve. She received her B.F.A. in Sculpture from Colorado State University. This exhibition is supported in part by the SVSU Biology Department and is recipient of the Dow Visiting Artists & Scholars grant.
