Students
The purpose of this webpage is to help students understand the process for registering with our office to get the required accommodations, self-advocate and articulate their needs to members of the campus community.
The purpose of the Office of Accessibility Resources and Accommodations (ARA) at SVSU is to support our students’ educational experience by helping them access accommodations and services. We mean to do this by removing barriers that might inhibit our students’ ability to have a positive university experience.
Our office partners with our students, faculty, and others in the campus community to ensure that the students we support have equal access to all programs, services, and experiences. All inquiries received by our office regarding reasonable accommodations are kept confidential.
The purpose of the Office of Accessibility Resources and Accommodations at SVSU is to collaborate with other university offices to provide a seamless transition and continued equitable experiences for students with disabilities.
ARA at SVSU works with faculty to offer a similar academic experience, ensuring that students’ accommodations are met in physical classrooms, online, and in all testing environments.
The purpose of the Office of Accessibility Resources and Accommodations at SVSU is to assist the university administration with its statutory responsibilities of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).
The ARA office exists to protect a qualified person with disabilities from discrimination in the areas of admission, academics, housing, and research. Appropriately enforcing the legal mandates under the ADA helps the university by advancing its diversity efforts and complying with requirements from the Michigan Department of Civil Rights and the United States Department of Education.
The purpose of this webpage is to help students understand the process for registering with our office to get the required accommodations, self-advocate and articulate their needs to members of the campus community.
