Diane Boehm Writing Award for e-Portfolios

The Diane Boehm Writing Award celebrates outstanding undergraduate and graduate student writing that uses digital platforms to skillfully communicate ideas, insights, and expertise to diverse public or professional audiences outside the university classroom.

Digital writing for this award encompasses more than traditional text-based content; it leverages multimedia, interactive elements, and online platforms to create engaging, purposeful communication for diverse audiences. Effective digital writing demonstrates the ability to connect with others through various digital media, including blogs, websites, social media, multimedia storytelling, or community-focused digital resources.

Entries will be judged on the following criteria:

  1. Effectiveness in engaging audiences outside the university classroom setting
  2. Use of artifacts, documents, and/or multimedia that reflect understanding of audience needs and interests
  3. Creative and purposeful use of multimedia to enhance audience engagement
  4. Visual appeal, accessibility, and user-friendly navigation that enhances audience experience
  5. Thoughtful reflection on the relevance of demonstrated skills and experiences to non-academic audiences
