The University Writing Program supports faculty engagement in best practices in the teaching of writing, provides students resources to develop their writing and critical thinking skills, and encourages all members of our university community to value writing by coordinating various activities and programs across campus.
Many resources exist to aid in all disciplines who teach writing; this website serves as a guide to these resources.
The inter-disciplinary University Writing Program fulfills key aspects of the University's mission by fostering a University-wide commitment to the development of writing courses and writing-intensive courses throughout the curriculum, coordinating writing initiatives among faculty and program units, and serving as the focal point for University planning to develop a campus-wide commitment to effective writing. The Writing Program further provides programmatic and support services to develop students' competence in academic and professional writing.
