Workday @ SVSU Timeline


January 2024 - April 2025: Finance, Payroll and Human Resources/Human Capital Management

Workday timeline from start to implementation Workday will take a few years to fully implement, and several internal teams have been formed to attend to the needed work. SVSU’s financial, payroll and human resources/human capital management systems are expected to operate within Workday by April 2025. Other processes will follow (see complete timeline below).

  • January – March 2024
    Pre-Planning and Alignment: Confirmation of the alignment of SVSU resources and the provision of tools, homework, and knowledge transfer to prepare for the deployment. 
  • April – May 2024
    Planning: Confirmation of the project scope, initiate project activities, establish project management processes and controls, and to deliver the Foundation Tenant (initial tenant build) to SVSU.
  • June – September 2024
    Architect, Configure and Prototype: Alchemy and SVSU project team members find a common understanding of SVSU’s business needs, analyze how Workday will be deployed to meet those needs, and complete the configuration based on the specifications gathered.
  • October 2024 – January 2025
    Test: Ensure that the configured Workday system sufficiently meets the needs of SVSU’s business. Multiple test efforts occur, and each has a different set of conditions and a different purpose.
  • January 2025
    Student Systems Implementation Phase Begins
  • January – April 2025
    Deploy / Post Production: Promotion of the Workday application into SVSU’s production environment. This immediately proceeds the “Go Live” (March 2025).
  • March 2025
    HR-HCM, Payroll and Finance Systems go live
