The School/University Partnership Office at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) offers tuition scholarships to teachers/administrators of SVSU authorized Public School Academies to obtain continuing education credits or to complete a program through the College of Education. 15 credits per year are available (Fall to Summer).
Specifically, 50% tuition scholarships for up to 5 years of service at the academy; 75% tuition scholarships for 6+ years of service at the academy. Download the fillable Scholarship Verification Form (104KB) to request a scholarship. The form must be submitted each semester of classes to obtain a scholarship.
1. Interested teachers/administrators not already active students at SVSU must first complete an SVSU student application on-line at https://www.svsu.edu/collegeofeducation/officesservices
2. Once the teacher/administrator has registered for classes and is an active SVSU student, email the completed Scholarship Verification Form to Dawn Gillespie (drg@svsu.edu), Administrative Assistant in the School/University Partnership Office.
The above information should be submitted before tuition payment due dates established by the University (see Important Dates). Otherwise, students will have to pay entire tuition balance upon registration and the scholarship for the class will be reimbursed at a later date, usually several weeks into the semester. Late registration and other fees are the student’s responsibility.
3. Once steps 1 and 2 have been completed, a Scholarship Authorization Form will be generated by the School/University Partnership Office and will be submitted to the Financial Aid Office. Verification will be sent by email that your scholarship is in process.
