Traineeship Stipends

SVSU is pleased to announce the award of a 4-year grant (2023-2027) to support PMHNP students from rural Michigan. A total of 31 PMHNP students are awarded a stipend of approximately $14,500 during the final year of their program, reducing the cost of their education by nearly 85%. All PMHNP students are considered for eligibility upon application to the PMHNP program. Priority is given to students from Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Loan Forgiveness Programs

Due to the overwhelming need for qualified practitioners, there are several federal loan forgiveness programs for certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners. This certificate also qualifies for Federal Student Loans.
