In accordance with the State of Michigan's Higher Education Appropriations Legislation, the following General Fund reports are presented for public review:
Saginaw Valley State University is a proud participant in the Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO) agreement. Under the MTA and MACRAO agreements, transfer students who’ve earned the MTA or MACRAO-stamped transcripts from participating Michigan public community colleges will have partially or fully met SVSU’s General Education requirements.
Transfer students who have fulfilled the 30 credit General Education requirement specified in the MACRAO Agreement will have to take no more than two categories to satisfy SVSU’s ten category General Education requirement. SVSU’s Registrar, or his designee, will evaluate the MACRAO-stamped transfer transcript to determine what SVSU General Education categories have been completed. If the evaluation leaves more than two categories unfilled, waivers (not transfer credits) will be given until two categories remain unfilled. Students are also required to complete at least two Communication Intensive (CI) courses at SVSU.

SVSU has signed reverse transfer agreements with the colleges listed below. In addition, SVSU allows all students transferring from a Michigan community college to pursue the completion of an associate's degree via the reverse transfer process.

* These rates are based on survey responses of less than 50% of each graduating class (SVSU Office of Institutional Research).
** Survey participation temporarily decreased due to a process change, fewer responses in turn impacted the results.
Many of the Michigan public universities do not routinely and systematically survey all their graduating seniors to gather data for a reliable response to this metric. At present, there is no common core set of questions and no consistent date for survey administration. Depending on the institution and the timing, response rates may be low and also biased towards students who have been successful in either entering the workforce or a graduate program. While institutions are making an effort to report the data that is available to them, care should be taken in interpreting the results.
