Student Guest Application
A Guest Application will serve as an individual's application for admission as a guest student at another accredited institution. An instruction page is attached to the form, which addresses important information for those students interested in becoming a guest student. This form does not ensure that the class they are taking as a guest will be transferable back to SVSU.
If a student wishes to take courses at another accredited institution, they should consult with an Academic Advisor, Department Advisor or the online transfer credit equivalency system to assure transferability. Students must have received a grade of C- (2.0) or better within their course at the accredited institution to be considered for transfer into SVSU.
In order to have the credit transferred back to SVSU, the student must request an official transcript to be sent to SVSU from the other institution's Office of the Registrar:

If you are a student at a different institution intending to take a guest course(s) at SVSU, please visit SVSU Admissions.
Prior to submitting the Guest Application, students will need to meet with their Dean's Office and have a Guest Application - Dean's Form approved by the Dean or Department Chair indicating the transfer equivalency for the course. This requirement is not intended to stop the student from attending a guest institution, but rather provide further advisement on whether the course the student plans on completing at the guest institution will be counted as credit for a specific SVSU course, rather than as general elective credits, toward the student's program of study.
International students will need signatures from both an advisor in the Office of International and Advanced Studies and the Dean's Office.

Graduate students who are in good standing in a degree program are eligible to take graduate courses at several schools in Michigan with prior approval of their home and potential host institutions. This program enables graduate students to take advantage of unique educational opportunities throughout the state.
