Cardinals in the Community

Cardinals in the Community is a University-driven initiative that aims to provide staff, faculty, and students with meaningful opportunities to give back to their local community. Focusing on the Great Lakes Bay Region, this program has already made a significant impact, with volunteers contributing more than 1000 hours of service.

Our Cardinals in the Community team is proud to support a diverse range of programs and events that positively impact the region. These include Midland Blooms, a beautification project that enhances the city's public spaces; the United Way of Bay County Day of Caring, which mobilizes volunteers for local service projects; Saginaw Team Up to Clean Up, an initiative to keep the city's streets and parks clean; the Dow Championship, a prestigious sporting event that draws visitors from around the world; and the 2024 Memorial Cup, a prestigious junior ice hockey championship.

Through these initiatives, Cardinals in the Community is not only making a tangible difference in the lives of local residents, but also fostering a sense of community and civic engagement among the University's students, faculty, and staff. The program's commitment to service and its positive impact on the Great Lakes Bay Region make it a shining example of the University's dedication to being a responsible and engaged member of the local community.
