Senator Kristen McDonald Rivet & an Election Town Hall
Senator Kristen McDonald Rivet hosted an Election Law Changed Town Hall on campus. She was joined by the Secretary of State's Office, State Senator Jeremy Moss, Saginaw County Clerk Vanessa Guerra, Bay County Clerk Katie Zanotti, and NAACP Saginaw Branch President Terry Pruitt, community members learned about how changes to election laws passed through ballot measures in 2022 will affect our upcoming elections in 2024.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer joined President Grant at Saginaw High School to discuss the value of completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We appreciate her leadership, as well as Senator Kristen McDonald Rivet's and Representative Amos O'Neal's leadership, in increasing affordability and accessibility to our colleges and universities.
Congressmen Moolenaar joins former Congress members for a panel
The Great Lakes Bay Economics Club hosted a panel that included Former Congress people Bart Stupak and Vicki Hartzler alongside Congressmen John Moolenaar and a representative from Congressmen Dan Kildee's office.
Lt. Governor Gilchrist and Legislators meet with students
Saginaw Valley State University was honored to host Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist and three state legislators today including Senator Kristen McDonald Rivet and Rep. Amos O'Neal. It was the first day of the Lt. Governor's "Made it in Michigan" tour. The trip highlighted efforts to lower education costs and increase the number of Michigan nurses. The Lt. Governor met with students, faculty, and staff and toured SVSU’s Nursing Simulation Lab.

President Grant Meets with Kochville Twp. Supervisor Al Malesky
Kochville Township Supervisor Al Malesky visited SVSU, and connected with President Grant. Mr. Malesky has served as Supervisor since 2020 and, before that, served as the Chief of the Kochville Township Fire Dept. We are appreciative of the friendship we maintain with our neighbor. As neighbors, I know we can do some great things together.
