Rev. Carmella Jones is a registered nurse and an American Baptist ordained clergy woman. She serves as the director of the Faith Community Nurse Program at Holy Cross Health, Silver Spring, Md., and on the clergy team at University Baptist Church, College Park, Md. Carmella earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saginaw Valley State University in 1981. She also holds a Master of Arts in community health and wellness promotion and a Master of Divinity.
In her current position at Holy Cross Health, she works with registered nurses to develop the health ministry and faith community nursing practice as a caring ministry that offers hope and healing even in the absence of cure. Carmella is passionate about intentional care of the spirit and teaching others to steward the gift of health and wholeness. In her role as a teacher and pastoral leader, she approaches the nursing and pastoral care ministries with creative inspiration, wisdom and joy. Carmella lends her time to the Fetal Infant Mortality Review Panel (PGHD) and serves on the ethics committee at Holy Cross Hospital. She resides in Lanham-Seabrook, Md.
