Saginaw Valley State University continues to strengthen the talent pool in Michigan and has established a partnership with Scheurer Health in Michigan’s Thumb that will provide higher education opportunities to employees of the hospital.
Through this partnership, Scheurer employees may be eligible for a tuition scholarship when they enroll in undergraduate, graduate or certificate programs at SVSU. To further assist employees advancing their education, Scheurer Health offers tuition reimbursement to qualifying employees.
“SVSU and Scheurer share a commitment to improving the lives of the people we serve,” said George Grant Jr, president of the university. “By enhancing educational accessibility to Scheurer employees, our organizations can support a well-prepared workforce that will have a positive impact on the hospital and the community.”
Scheurer Health is an independent health care organization that, in addition to a critical access hospital, operates two senior living communities, a wellness (fitness) center, a vision center, four pharmacies and multiple medical clinics across five communities to provide comprehensive health services to people throughout Michigan’s Thumb.
“It is our goal at Scheurer Health to remain as the premier choice for healthcare in the Thumb of Michigan. With that, it is imperative that we support our team of 488 medical professionals in every aspect of their lives, including furthering their careers. This partnership with SVSU allows us to double down on that effort and are excited for the opportunity to launch our workforce to the forefront, even more than they are already,” said Dr. Ross Ramsey, President & CEO of Scheurer Health.
Through its partnership with Scheurer, SVSU expects to expand and strengthen its ties to the health care community, building relationships that enhance the caliber of patient care and services.
Additional details about application procedures and tuition benefits will be shared with Scheurer employees through internal communication channels.
