For the 10th year, runners will loop through and around the campus of Saginaw Valley State University in a race to honor first responder and military heroes. The 9/11 Heroes Run will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10 to benefit the Travis Manion Foundation and the Great Lakes Bay Veteran Coalition.

McLaren Health Care, the three-state, fully integrated health care system, has announced a partnership with Saginaw Valley State University that will provide all qualified employees wishing to further their education with a 30 percent discount on tuition and all associated fees for in-person and online courses through the university, located less than 10 miles from McLaren Bay Region hospital in Bay City.

SVSU installs President George Grant Jr in iconic ceremony
George Grant Jr. was formally installed as the fifth president of Saginaw Valley State University during an investiture ceremony today, Tuesday, September 26, at 10:30 a.m. in the Malcom Field Theatre for Performing Arts. Grant assumed the office of president on Jan. 1.

SVSU advanced-degree nursing students don white coats in iconic ceremony
Saginaw Valley State University recently celebrated the advancement of nurses taking their final steps to becoming primary care family nurse practitioners. On August 28, 27 SVSU Primary Care Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) students received white coats and recited the white coat pledge, signifying their advancement into clinical work.
