SVSU leaders participating in fundraiser for literacy, education programs

Huntley-Barry‌Two members of Saginaw Valley State University are showing their dedication to the institution’s commitment to community engagement through a fundraising campaign aimed at improving local literacy and education programs.

Deborah Huntley, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, and Peter Rose-Barry, SVSU’s Finkbeiner Endowed Professor of Ethics, are two of 18 participants in the United Way of Saginaw County Saginaw’s Most Stylish campaign.

The campaign works in part through an online voting system. Each vote costs $5. The proceeds benefit initiatives improving literacy and education programs in Saginaw County. Online voting is open until Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 5 p.m.To make a donation, visit: http://www.unitedwaysaginaw.org/stylish.

The votes will be added to the votes each participant receives while walking the stage during the Saginaw’s Most Stylish event at Horizons Conference Center in Saginaw Township Thursday, Oct. 26. The winning participant will have their school’s fight song played at the end of the event.
