These are a list of amenities provided to you by the university.
Residential facilities provide lobbies and study lounges for the use of the housing residents. In addition, volleyball and basketball courts are available for use. However, users must adhere to the posted quiet/courtesy hours.
University Village West and Pine Grove Apartments each have a community center allowing groups to gather for programming or meetings. Each community center is equipped with television, game equipment and a kitchen area. When these spaces are not reserved, students are welcome to utilize them for study or recreational purposes.
To reserve a community center, please complete the Community Center Reservation Form (542KB) and submit to the Resident Director of the facility at least one week prior to the event. It is important to review the reservation form in its entirety before making a reservation. To find out if space is available, please email reslife@svsu.edu.
All university housing facilities are fully-furnished. While it is not necessary to bring furniture, students are encouraged to personalize their rooms. However, please do not put holes in any surfaces. The most common damage charges assessed to residents are for tack holes in walls and adhesive damage from tape. University furnishings and property are not to be removed from the rooms.

Upon receiving a housing assignment, students may apply on-line via “Manage my Account” for a parking permit (SVSU user name and password required) or complete the process upon Housing Check-In. Permits will be available at Parking Services on check-in and move-in day for all pre-registered individuals. All overnight vehicles must be registered through University Police. Residents are reminded to always lock their vehicle and remove valuable belongings. Motorcycles are considered motor vehicles and must be operated and parked in areas designated for all vehicles. Motorcycles are not permitted on lawns, near or inside the buildings.
SVSU residents traditionally choose to communicate using their personal cellular telephones. The university recognizes that cellular coverage may be inconsistent within the freshman residential facilities. Courtesy telephones are located in the corridors of freshman residential facilities. Local telephone service is provided at these courtesy phones.
Residents assigned to freshman residential facilities who have unique circumstances or would otherwise like to be considered for an in-unit phone are advised to contact Housing Operations at (989) 964-4255.
