The Fall Semester Is Now In Full Swing! Check Out The Library Fall Hours - Here
The Melvin J. Zahnow Library provides information resources and services to support the teaching and research needs of the students, faculty and staff of Saginaw Valley State University (View Mission and Goals). Spread over four floors with entrances on the first and second floors, its collections cover a vast array of topics and a multitude of formats. Librarians work collaboratively with faculty to add new materials, a process referred to as collection development. Visit our Collections page for a thorough description.
Many of the materials housed in the Library may be checked out through the first-floor Circulation Desk or the second-floor Information Desk. Finding specific items is done through our Classic/CardCat or Ebsco Discovery Service online catalogs. For more information about the library visit Library History.
At Saginaw Valley State University, we recognize that we are located on the ancestral homelands of the Anishinaabe, Wyandot, and Sauk. We specifically acknowledge the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe and the land ceded in the Saginaw Treaty of 1819, on which we reside. We appreciate the importance of preserving and honoring the traditions of Indigenous People, who are an integral part of our shared history. As we pledge to serve as responsible stewards of the land, we endeavor for this history to inform our teaching, scholarship, and our commitment to the community.
