General Information

Attend the Grad Fair to pick up your cap and gown for commencement! There are many resources at the Grad Fair to help you through graduation and as an SVSU alum. You will be able to purchase cords and stoles, buy graduation announcements, buy a class ring, have your photo taken in your cap and gown with Grad Images, learn about alumni benefits, and be entered into a giveaway for a free diploma frame!

RSVP

Registration is required to attend the Grad Fair. Registration involves completing the First Destination Survey. This survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete via Handshake, so we recommend that you complete it ahead of time. You will be asked to show the completed screen at the entrance table before entering the bookstore.

If you RSVP before the event, your name will be automatically entered into a drawing to win some SVSU giveaways, including a free diploma frame as the grand prize!

Frequently Asked Questions

I cannot attend the Grad Fair; how can I get my cap and gown?

If you cannot attend the Grad Fair, you will be able to pick up your cap and gown from the SVSU Bookstore anytime before the Commencement ceremony.

Can someone pick up my cap and gown for me?

Yes, you can have a friend or family member pick up your cap and gown. They will need your name and your student ID number.

I am a graduate student. Can I purchase cords?

Masters and Doctorate degrees cannot wear cords during the commencement ceremony, as they will be wearing hoods.

I got my photo taken at the Grad Fair; how will I receive it?

If you got your photo taken with Grad Images, you can contact them about how to receive your photos at 800-261-2576 or email them HERE.

I tried on my cap and gown and it does not fit. Can I exchange it?

Yes, you can exchange your cap and gown for a different size at the SVSU Bookstore anytime up until commencement.
