Faculty Association

Most SVSU faculty members are members of the Faculty Association (FA), a unionized bargaining unit. The FA represents the faculty in employment- related issues. One of the critical roles of the FA is to negotiate the Faculty Contract, which outlines both the rights and responsibilities of all faculty and the faculty’s relationship to the administration. Issues of governance, tenure, promotion, course loads, health care, compensation, raises, grievances, curriculum, etc., are discussed in full in the Contract. Contracts are negotiated every three years.
