Call for Proposals

“Courageous Conversations: More Than Just Talk” proposals should follow one of the following formats:

1. Collaborative Presentation by several (2-4) people on a single project (60 minutes)
2. Panel of 3-4 people on a similar topic (60 minutes total)
3. Workshop/Roundtable (single or multiple facilitators, 45 minutes)
4. Single Presentation (30 minutes)
5. Creative Display (i.e. digital, poster, etc.)

In addition to aligning with the Conference theme, we encourage sessions that are interactive, dialogue-based, and offer examples and models of courageous conversations.  Sessions may also
•    Feature specific initiatives and examples of courageous conversations
•    Introduce, instruct, model, demonstrate best practices and tools for meaningful dialogue
•    Provide data, research, theory-based approaches to conversations
•    Explain how to evaluate and assess conversations and instruct on data collection and tools for assessment
•    Highlight conversations in response to incidents, as mediation and restorative practice
•    Instruct on developing and supporting collaborative long-term and on-going conversations
•    Model inclusive conversations which expand beyond committed advocates and build larger partnerships and inspire new supporters

All proposals must include,

• Name of presenter(s), professional position and organizational/institutional affiliation(s), contact information for presenter(s).  For collaborative presentations, workshops/roundtables with multiple facilitators, and full panels please identify the lead contact person.  Please also include A/V needs. 
• For collaborative presentations, workshops/roundtables with multiple facilitators, and full panels please also provide the title of the session, each presentation title, summary (less than 500 words), and abstract (less than 40 words to be included in the Conference program) in addition to the information requested above.
• For individual submissions, single presentations, and creative displays please also provide the presentation title, summary (less than 250 words), and abstract (less than 40 words to be included in the Conference program) in addition to the information requested above.
• All proposal summaries must address the conference theme and identify learning objectives and take-aways.
