The purpose of the Criminal Justice Society (CJS) is to stimulate interest in Criminal Justice (CJ) activities at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU), and to promote the scholarly and academic aspects of Criminal Justice. The organization provides current CJ majors and minors with the opportunity to network with each other as well as alumni. CJS members are exposed to various career options in the CJ field through extra curricular activities such as educational guest speakers, field trips, and community service opportunities.
Students should attend Criminal Justice Society meetings in order to learn more about membership requirements and how to participate in the organization. Membership is open to students with strong professional interests in the field of criminal justice regardless of major. The bylaws presently provide that active members (with voting privileges) must have at least a 2.5 overall GPA and must complete the following application procedures:
The CJ Society meetings are held weekly.
