Public School Academy (PSA) Scholar Program

The Public School Academy (PSA) Scholar Program is a distinguished $8,000 scholarship designed to support, challenge, and guide graduates from SVSU-authorized academies who exhibit leadership potential. This program is structured to provide intensive career, academic, and financial support, helping students develop the skills they need to succeed in college and beyond. 

 

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Attendance at an SVSU-authorized academy for the last three years of high school or middle school, based on the academy type: 
  • K-12 Authorized Academy: Completion of grades 10-12. 
  • K-8 Authorized Academy: Completion of grades 6-8. 
  • Minimum high school GPA of 2.5. 
  • Admission to SVSU by the application deadline. 
  • Completing the PSA application, including three short essays and two letters of recommendation. 
  • Maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA throughout the scholarship period. 
  • Meet ongoing scholarship requirements set forth by the Cardinal Partnership Program. 

Transition Program and College Readiness Support: PSA Scholars enter SVSU’s Transition Program, a rigorous college readiness initiative offering extensive support inside and outside the classroom. Key aspects of this program include: 

  • Volunteer & Leadership Opportunities: Build community and develop leadership through organized service experiences. 
  • Career & Professional Development: Access employment and professional growth opportunities to explore career paths. 
  • Social-Emotional & Academic Support: Benefit from tailored advising, social-emotional resources, and academic guidance. 
  • Study Abroad Opportunities: Expand perspectives with global learning experiences. 

The PSA Scholar Program cannot be combined with the SUPO Promise. Through the PSA Scholar Program, students gain access to various resources and experiences to strengthen their academic journey, grow as leaders, and fully immerse themselves in the SVSU community.
