SVSU Night at the Detroit Pistons

January 18, 5:00 PM, Little Caesars Arena

SVSU Night at the Pistons is on January 18! Bring your family and friends to cheer on the Pistons against the Phoenix Suns at 5:00 pm at Little Caesars Arena! All tickets purchased through the SVSU link come with a co-branded Cardinals and Pistons hoodie!
We have 2 charter buses heading to the event! Ride the bus to and from the game by meeting at SVSU in the afternoon. Spaces are limited, so sign up soon. Reserve your spot on the bus HERE.

2025 Martin Luther King, Jr. Regional Celebration

January 22, 7:00 PM, Malcolm Field Theatre in Curtiss Hall

The Rev. Nontombi Naomi Tutu, an Episcopal priest and advocate for racial and gender justice, will deliver the keynote address, “Our Shared Humanity: Creating Understanding Through the Principles of MLK.”

The event will feature the keynote address by the Rev. Nontombi Naomi Tutu, the MLK Scholarship Awards presentation, and the Regional Drum Major Awards presentation.

This event is open to all, and no advance registration is necessary.

Spring University Wide Employment Fair

January 31, 12:00-3:00, Ryder Center East Arena

SVSU alums are invited to attend all career fairs on campus both to look for job opportunities and as employers looking to hire from SVSU. The Spring University-Wide Employment Fair on Friday, January 31st, 2025 from 12pm-3pm (located in the Ryder Center) is ideal for finding internships, co-ops, part-time jobs, and full-time jobs, as well as networking and exploring career paths! All majors are welcome.

Women Who Weave

February 19-23, Malcolm Field Theatre in Curtiss Hall

When the plucky, ambitious 12-year-old Atalanta is excluded from the men's boar hunt, she is convinced that being female means giving up any chance at being heroic. But her mother comforts her with the stores of the Fates, the three goddesses who weave the destiny of all human beings. A skeptical Atalanta dozes off and drifts into a bizarre dream that carries her to the loom of the Fates, where she lives the stories of three great Greek heroines and discovers that heroism has more to do with the decisions we make than the fate we're born into.

Taste of Soul

February 27, 11:00 AM-1:30 PM, Marketplace at Doan at SVSU

As a special annual event, the Office of Diversity Programs in collaboration with the Marketplace at Doan bring together various recipes prepared by faculty and staff as well as local chefs from the Great Lakes Bay Region. The event invites faculty, staff, students and the community to experience the African-American culture’s food.

First Robotics Michigan State Championship

April13-5, Ryder Center at SVSU

Everyone is welcome to attend the First Robotics State Championship at SVSU. Watch as middle and high school students compete in various competitions with the robots that they built. This a family-friendly event that is guaranteed to keep you entertained and will encourage everyone to be a part of STEM!
