Event Information

Join us on November 14 at SVSU from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM to celebrate our 2024 Distinguished Alumni. You can nominate SVSU alums for each award through August 16, and the awardees will be announced in early September. Registration for this event will open closer to the event date.

Nominations

Nominate an SVSU alumnus that you feel deserves one of our seven distinguished alumni awards. The description for each award is written below. The deadline to nominate someone is August 16 at midnight.

Distinguished Alumni Awards

The Alumni Celebration recognizes SVSU Alumni whose personal and professional achievements have positively affected their community and strongly reflect the values of Saginaw Valley State University. Join us as we honor these alumni who represent the Cardinal Difference.

There are three types of awards given at the Alumni Celebration event: Distinguished, Veteran, and Young Alumni Awards.

The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented to a graduate of SVSU in recognition of distinguished service and accomplishment in any field of human endeavor that enhances the prestige of the University.

The Veteran Alumni Award is presented to an outstanding alum who has served our country with distinction through one of the armed forces and exemplifies their SVSU degree by creating personal and professional successes.

The Graduate of the Last Decade (GOLD) Award is presented to an alum within 10 years of graduation who has contributed to student and campus life, has a strong affinity for and connection to SVSU, has been recognized for a strong work ethic, and has shown evidence of professional achievement and civic service.
