Three SVSU Campus Events

Featured Speaker 

Each year students and faculty have the opportunity to hear a Michigan author discuss their writing. A book signing and refreshments follow.

This year, alumni authors Carrie Mattern, Russell Scaffede, Lane Walker, Sandra Wilbanks, and Jason Wolverton will be featured.

2012—Brian Willingham, author of Soul of a Black Cop

SVSU Open Mic/Coffee House 

The SVSU Open Mic/Coffee House event will be held this year on October 15th in the Student Activities Room from 9 pm to 12 am.. Participants are eligible for a $75 prize in one of five categories: original song; short story; YouTube video; poetry; and comedy routine (5 minute limit on all entries).

SVSU Wall of Writing 

The University Writing Committee invites submissions for SVSU’s National Day on Writing online gallery.  Writing in any genre is accepted. The submission deadline is October 15th, 2014.
