The Legislation and External Affairs Committee serves Student Association internally by reviewing resolutions before they are considered before the House. The committee will make students aware of local, state, and national political issues and affairs, particularly those that affect them. They will also serve as representatives of the university by engaging in local, state, and national politics. By being involved with the Student Association of Michigan (SAM), the committee will communicate and collaborate with other Michigan universities to work on improvements for all public universities.
The committee will attend and organize SAM meetings, attend Kochville Township meetings, coordinate lobbying trips to the Michigan Capitol, and put on events and programs regarding political awareness.
If you have any questions or want more information about the committee, you can contact the committee chair, Douglas Boehm at email@example.com.
