In an effort to raise money to fund the Abou Traore Memorial Scholarship, SVSU's Men's & Women's Basketball teams (Pros) take on faculty & staff (Joes) in the annual Pros vs. Joes charity basketball game. Abou Traore was an international student who attended SVSU from 2005 to 2007. Sadly, Abou lost his life in a tragic accident before the start of the Fall 2007 semester. Abou was a pre-med major, whose dream was to return home to his country of Senegal as a doctor. He was preparing to be a Resident Assistant for the 2007-2008 academic year. There will be prizes, good times and a fun game to watch for all who attend!
Streetfest is an annual outdoor event for the SVSU Community featuring inflatables, food trucks, a DJ, and much more! Streetfest will take place on April 5th. This event will be focused on raising funds for student scholarships in partner with Forever Red. All of the funds come from sponsorships of SVSU department offices and local businesses.
