The Association of Professional & Technical Writers at SVSU is preparing for its 9th annual mini-conference on Friday, April 7, 2017 to share and celebrate the work that students are doing throughout the region.
The theme for this conference is #WeAdvocate, based upon the department of Rhetoric and Professional Writing’s variant on the University’s larger #WeCardinal marketing campaign. #WeAdvocate is a statement about how we see the purpose of the work we create in the department and the work in which professional technical communicators are engaged every day. We invite you, whether in a poster or presentation format, to explore how you serve as an advocate in your work, whether for underrepresented or systematically oppressed peoples, user groups, stakeholders, or non-technical audiences – or anyone else you can think of.
The deadline for proposals is March 6, 2017. Proposals should be submitted in PDF by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. They will be single-blind reviewed by a small committee of APTW members, led by the executive board. Presenters will be notified of the committee’s decision by Monday, March 20. Information about conference registration will be announced at a later date.
Direct further questions to Ky Wojciechowski (email@example.com), Dom Scola (firstname.lastname@example.org), or C.J. Cook (email@example.com).
