The search committee for the Provost has established interview schedules for the four finalists being considered to replace Don Bachand, who was named president. The campus community is encouraged to participate in the process.
Each of the finalists will take questions during an open forum in the Roberta Allen Reading Room, on the fourth floor of Zahnow Library.
The visit dates for the candidates are as follows:
George Arasimowicz, who is currently the dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Kean University in New Jersey. He previously served as dean of the College of Arts and Humanities at California State University-Dominguez Hills. Arasimowicz completed bachelor’s degrees at Carleton University and the University of Toronto, a master’s degree at McGill University, and a Ph.D. at the University of California-San Diego.
Thomas Erekson, who is currently the dean of the College of Business and Technology at Western Illinois University. He previously served as dean of the College of Technology at Bowling Green State University. Erekson completed a bachelor’s degree at Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree and Ed.D. at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Deborah Huntley, who is currently the dean of the College of Science, Engineering and Technology at SVSU. She previously served as an associate vice president for academic affairs at SVSU. Huntley completed a bachelor’s degree at the University of Connecticut and a Ph.D. at Cornell University.
Robert Marande, who is currently assistant provost and dean of undergraduate education at Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania. He previously served as dean of the College of Science and Technology at Bloomsburg. Marande completed a bachelor’s degree at SVSU, a master’s degree at the University of Akron, and a Ph.D. at Kent State University.
