Of course, your student’s safety is your paramount concern; so too is it ours. The Department offers a wide range of police services to the campus community, including emergency response, traffic control and enforcement, criminal incident investigations, traffic investigations and campus preventive patrol. University Police can provide escort services from building to building or from a facility to a student's car. Additionally, special programs in crime prevention, sexual assault prevention and awareness, and special event coordination are provided.
University Police maintain the electronic Emergency Notification System. This system provides text and voice notifications from SVSU in the event of an on campus emergency or school closure due to weather. (Please note, only those with a valid SVSU username and password are able to sign up for the Emergency Notification System.) Have your student to register for the Emergency Notification System at: www.svsu.edu/universitypolice/ens/
The University Police distributes an annual Campus Security Report that you can review at www.svsu.edu/universitypolice.
