At SVSU, your student's mental and physical health are important. The following services are available to meet your student's needs.

University Health Center, located inside Saginaw Valley HealthCare, provides walk-in primary medical care, disease prevention, health education and various specialty services to SVSU students, faculty and staff, and the surrounding community.
University Health Center (UHC) is a MedExpress, operated by Covenant Health Care Systems. The Center is staffed with board certified physicians, physician's assistants, nurse practitioners, specially trained nurses and lab technicians. A primary care physician, Kathleen Skelcy, DO, has a practice in the clinic located at the adjoining site.
The basic fee for an office visit is $10, but charges may vary with other required procedures. Payment can be made at the UHC at the time of service with cash/check or credit card, the balance can be applied to the student's SVSU Cardinal Direct account or the charge can be submitted through the student’s health insurance provider.

If your student has documented disabilities, the Office of Disability Services coordinates support services. Support services include note-taking paper, assistive listening devices, alternate testing arrangements, power assisted doors in all buildings, handouts in Braille, and OCR computers with scanners.

The Student Counseling Center serves as a mental health and substance abuse referral resource for students. Center staff provide assessments, crisis intervention, community referrals, educational classes and workshops, free of charge to enrolled students.
