Puccini’s Turandot at the Detroit Opera House (28)

Ancient Peking is the backdrop for the myth of the beautiful and bloodthirsty Princess Turandot. Resolved to never let any man possess her, she decrees that any suitor must answer three riddles or die.  Many believe that Puccini’s final opera is also his most musically adventurous.  Our package includes seats to the 11 a.m. dress rehearsal, a three-course late lunch at Sinbad’s after the show, and motorcoach transportation from SVSU.  It also includes a pre-trip opera overview led by Greg Largent, Director Music Ministries at First Presbyterian Church in Saginaw.

Pre-Trip Lecture: Thursday, May 1, from 3-4:30 p.m. in Curtiss 129.
Friday: May 9 from 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
