 At SVSU, faculty members have the opportunity to teach courses in online/hybrid formats. The University is committed to high quality learning experiences offered in a variety of delivery formats. Faculty members are provided training and ongoing support to design and teach online/hybrid courses. SVSU is a subscribing member of Quality Matters Program, which provides national standards and guidelines for designing high quality online/hybrid learning experiences.

 

Teach An Online/Hybrid Course

To teach an online/hybrid course at SVSU, faculty must:

 1)   submit a request that the course be offered in an online/hybrid format – and

 2)   receive training to teach online/hybrid courses. 

The submission dates for online/hybrid course plans are:

            • October 1 for Spring/Summer courses 

            • November 1 for the following Fall/Winter academic year courses

Ongoing Professional Development Opportunities

Faculty members have the opportunity to participate in ongoing professional development activities to support online teaching. The hands-on workshops are offered in collaboration with the ITD staff on a wide range of topics. Faculty members can also suggest a workshop that they would like to be offered by submitting the “Suggest a Workshop” form.

 

 

 

 

Upcoming Online Training

Designer Course

September 15-November 21

This training is for faculty who wish to design and teach online/hybrid courses. The training will be offered in a hybrid format which will include a combination of online and face-to-face sessions.
