Homecoming is especially a great time to be a Cardinal. It’s that special time of year when current students and alumni come together to show their Red Pride. Join us by participating in our Homecoming traditions like: the Student Organization Competition, Homecoming 5K Run, the Annual Lip Sync Competition, Alumni Tailgate, and Homecoming Football game. Friday, October 6th outside of the Marketplace
Starting Friday, Student teams can begin decorating their assigned window outside of the Marketplace incorporating the Homecoming Theme, SVSU, and the Football Game. Judgin will begin on Wednesday, October 11th at 8:00am.
Sunday, October 8th at 1:00pm at Braddock Field (Soccer Fields) (Rain Back-up in the TSAR)
RSOs will show school spirit by presenting their “2017 Homecoming Flag” at the Women’s and Men’s soccer games. Each group’s flag will be presented on the field at halftime of the women’s game and will be used throughout the week at each Homecoming event. Additionally, the 2017 Homecoming Court will be introduced.
Monday, October 9th at 7:00pm in the O'Neill Arena
Come out and be the last team standing at the annual, single elimination, Macho Volleyball Tournament. Remember, each team must submit a written roster of the six males and one female couch that are representing their organization at check-in. Regulation volleyball rules apply.
Tuesday, October 10th at 9:00pm in the Thompson Student Activities Room (TSAR)
Show SVSU your RSO's fashion in a runway-style presentation representing your assigned decade. Each RSO will have their own emcee that will do the announcing for their RSO's decade of style. Remember, modeling cannot take longer than 4 minutes! Check-in: 8:15pm(Promptly)
Wednesday, October 11 at 9:00pm in the Hamilton Gym
Show your RSOs Red Pride by creating a lip-synced musical act featuring a pre-designed decade of music. Remember, mash-ups cannot be longer than 4 minutes, cannot be distasteful in any way, and music must be saved to a jump drive and provided to the DJ upon check-in at 8:00pm.
Thursday, October 12th at 12:00pm - 5:00pm in the Student Life Center
Come demonstrate SVSU's commitment to the region through this Homecoming Service Project. Particpating RSOs and individuals will make blankets to donate to Project Linus, and organization that provides hospitalized children with a comfort blanket.
Stop into Student Life, anytime between Noon and 5:00 PM, to complete 3 tie blankets during the allotted time.
Friday, October 13th at 5:00am in the O'Neill Arena
Show SVSUs Red Pride to the ABC12 viewers while also giving back to our communiy by donating to a local food bank!
Donate at least 20ibs of non-perishable foods. Donations can be dropped off at any time during Homecoming Week (Deadline: Noon on Friday, October 13th). Make sure to have at least 5 memebers from your RSO at the ABC12 Competition, and wear your best Red Pride apparel

Come have your RSO be the last team standing in the bracket! Remember, each team must submit a written roster of the 5-12 female participants representing their team, and their male coach.
You must sign-up your team ahead of time at svsu.edu/recreation at the "register now" tab. If you have any registration questions please consult the 2017 Homecoming Team Competition Packet or email Brady Duke, Coordinator of Intramural Sports Programs, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Check-In is at 2:30pm.

Looking for something to do on your Friday night? Come check out the showing of Second City. They are an improvisational comedy enterprise, best known as the first ever on-going improvisational theater troupe based in Chicago. Admission is free for students.

Join us for the second annual Homecoming 5K Fun Run to benefit the Forever Red Scholarship. The race course is through the beautiful campus of Saginaw Valley State University. Registration fee includes a commemorative t-shirt.

The annual Alumni Tailgate featuring tailgate buffet of hamburgers, hot dogs, chili, cookies, homemade chips, beer, wine, soda & water, music by the Cronies & Les Egos Band, a football game ticket and many prize drawings. Appearances by Coop & the SVSU Marching Band too! The Tailgate takes place at the Alumni Tent between parking lots C-C1 on Davis Road.
