Science Centers and Museums

  1. Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum
    This site has information about visiting the Planetarium.  Also contains some news, references, websites, and informaion on Astronomers.  Mainly a teacher resource.
  2. American Museum of Natural History
    The renowned New York museum is where they keep the dinosarus. The biodiversity material shows how we're all dependent upon one another.
  3. California Academy of Science New
    Teachers will find a comprehensive listing of environmental curriculum guides, ranging from marine biology to endangered species. Each entry includes a brief description of contents and appropriate grade level.
  4. Canadian Museum of Nature
    Contains many online exhibits and a great deal of information from their research archieves.
  5. Chicago Children's Museum
    What a great museum!  Lots of hands on learning activities for the kids.  Everythinig from digging up dinosaurs to constructing fantasy structures.  Also gives information for birthday parties and just visiting.

    This site provides links to many science centers and museums.
  7. Miami Museum of Science
    This site has a wealth of worthwhile student activities to learn about PH. Excite, explain, explore, expand, extend, exchange and examine are the button categories. Each category links to different activities for the classroom. There are dozens of additonal science activities at this web site.

    This site offers many interactive online exhibits. It also links you to many sites in the science realm.

    This site shows the exhibits at the Museum of Science and Industry.  Gives information on visiting and hours of operation.

    This site links to the Ontario Science Centre home page. The site contains many different exhibits and other features related to science.

    The San Franciso Exploratorium has a home page with links to a Solar Eclipse Webcast, Science Wire, Hubble Space Telescope, Live Webcasts, Iron Science Teacher, The Learning Studio, and Observatory and a Sport Science link.

    The online edition of the famed Philly museum lets you follow classroom journeys into the field.

Aquariums

  1. Aquarium of the Pacific
    Visitors to this site can see live video of sea jellies, fish, diving birds, and other exhibits found at the aquarium. This website also has informtion on other animals as well as career information.
  2. Monterey Bay Aquarium On-line
    If it swims, you'll find it in the e-quarium.
  3. National Aquarium in Baltimore
    This site has excellent interactive games that promote environmental awareness. The games are designed around the following topics: seahorses, sea jellies, the rainforest, oceans, and deadly venoms. This site is appropriate for upper elementary students.

Zoos

  1. Animal Information Database (Sea World Busch Gardens)
    Animal Bytes includes scientific classification, facts, and biological information.  It features information booklets and specific lesson plansthat integrate science and math.
  2. Electronic Zoo
    An awesom tool to help you find lists of animal-related information on the internet.
  3. Hannover Zoo (Germany)
    A great place to learn information about animals from all over the world.
  4. National Zoological Park Home Page
    This site provides a wealth of information on the animals who are available at the zoo.  Provides online information, video, and slideshows.
  5. The San Diego Zoo
    This website is appropriate for all students. It offers several virtual tours, many videos, and lots of information on the animals.
