    This is a site that contains information about AIMS. Numerous hands-on activities are available from this site. The Aims Education Foundation has developed many K-9 activities. A great deal of information for science teachers is available at this site.

    This site contains many resources including worksheets, labs, puzzles, and activities. It has activities for biology and chemistry.
  3. Classroom Earth: Best of the Web
    Created June '04, this site lists all areas and grades of science. Although this site contains clearing house sites, there are new sites for teacher resouces and home schooling.

    This site is dedicated to improving math and science instruction. It provides a variety of resources that teachers can use to improve instruction. This site contains lesson plans and units of instruction on a variety of topics.

    Outstanding: This site is the state of Utah's science site. It contains lesson plans, Interent resources, and videos. Great place to pick up ideas K-12.
  12. Science Bob
    Science Bob has a teacher's zone, a lab, experiment section and  science fair help. This is a great site for ideas and lesson plans for grades 2-5.

    Outstanding: This site has interacitve icons for students 7-12 in genetics, physics, general science, the earth. One of the activities is on blackhole that provides the student on a journey to a blackhole. Great site!

    Aimed mainly at children, the good doctor offers the sort of detailed and authority-laced explanations to common questions ("Why can't we grow more brain cells?") any science fan can love.
  3. Chernobyl.com
    This is the independent web site of those dedicated to informing and educating the world about radiation disaster.  There is lots of information regarding the Chernobyl disaster and its effects, especially locally.  Information is also included about radiation and its effects world-wide. Lots of pictures and maps, lots of research information. A good resource.
  4. Cool Science for Curious Kids
    How does a caterpillar transform itself into a butterfly? What happens when you breathe in dust through your nose? These and other biologically inspired questions are the focus of a series of explanations, illustrations, animations, and projects drawn from children's science museums across the country.

    This is a NASA site that focuses on relatively down-to-earth topics like tropical rainfall and the ozone hole.     This site contains real world videos that demonstrate scientific properties in all major science disciplines. The videos include Discovery Channel , NASA, Science Channel, HowStuffWorks, and Mythbusters segments. It would be appropriate for use at all grade levels.

  4. C. Elegans Movies
    Site contains Elegans Movies. C. elegans develops from a single cell, the fertilized egg, to a 558-celled worm in about 14 hours. The worm that crawls out of its eggshell has a functioning feeding apparatus, gut, nervous system and muscles. These videos show some of the events that occur along the way.

    Life Science, earth science, and physical science. This is the web site for weekly science magazine Science News. The articles are abrivated reprints of articles from other science research journals. Selected articles are put on line each week. If you are a subscriber to the hard copies you can log-in and will have access to all materials on each issue. There is a link to get permission to use any printed material. The articles are short and easy to use.
  20. Science News for Kids
    You will find a wealth of material for youthful readers. Just go to those topic headings at the top of the home page and select Science News for Kids. Some kid-friendly stories will even be featured each week on the home page. Their headlines will clue you in with the tag "For Kids."
  21. Science Teacher Resource Center
    This site includes LOTS of activities, lessons, worksheets, etc. for all areas of science, including AP.  Site is very well organized by subject and very easy to navigate. An excellent resource!
  22. Scientific American
    Life science, earth science and physical science articles. Selected articles are up online from current and previous issues of the Scientific American and can be printed off. The Site can be searched for specific subjects.

  24. The Mad Scientist Network
    Leveraging the collective crania of scientists who love to teach, the site features an archive of questions and answers, plus a series of "mad labs" demos and links to other sites.

  6. GLOBE Program Homepage
    GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment) is an international program where your students can join students from around the world in monitoring their local environment. Students can then submit their findings to a growing database on the Internet. Scientists and other students can access the data for research about the global environment. This site contains all the information a teacher would need to perform GLOBE activities, including studies of the atmosphere, hydrology, soils, seasons, land cover, and global positioning systems (GPS). The protocols for the activities are described, although to become an offical GLOBE site, teachers must also attend an official GLOBE training session. Information on training sessions can be obtained on the Globe site.
