‌Calvin Talley – KCP 4-S P.A.S.S. Program Coordinator

Cal Talley joined the SVSU family in August of 2015. He currently provides oversite for the university's King Chavez Parks (KCP) 4S PASS initiative, and supports local community engagement efforts.  He brings to the SVSU team more than two decades of experience improving team effectiveness and efficiency within the Energy industry. He has demonstrated the ability to balances multi-dimensional experience with professional insight and high-caliber acumen that consistently produces strong results through continuous improvements and collaborative relationships. He fosters heighten team and personal performance by creating avenues for shared accountability, and creating cultures that empower and reward initiative, innovation, and adaptability.

Cal is first generation in college and a graduate of Northwood University with a bachelor's degree in Business Management. He also attended The Executive Program University of Michigan Business School, and participated in the Hartford Leadership Development Program. He is currently seeking Masters of Arts with a focus on Student Affairs. As a member of the Great Lakes Bay community he successfully completed the Vision Tri-county Leadership Institute. He served as a board member for the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE), Bay Future Inc., The Bay Area Chamber of commerce and the Bridge for Racial Harmony SaginawMichigan. Cal is a certified Strategic Planner and Performance consultant by The Growth Coach ®, a business coaching organization servicing 170 Business Coaching franchises throughout the North American continent.

Cal since has been committed to using his experiences to bettering the community while encouraging entrepreneurship and youth empowerment. Cal’s early experiences mirror those of most urban population and has successfully navigated barriers faced in today’s challenging economic environment to achieve life's goals. It is his belief that all people have ability to excel when given the right training, and tools, in a strategically focused environment. Because of his belief he formed Verse 51. Verse 51 is an organization designed to increase the effectiveness of leaders in the Faith Based and Non-profit communities. Verse 51 supports neighborhood transformations through facilitated workshops, and implementation of concepts focused on creating healthy communities and other structures of belonging.

LynJenae Twyman - Program Assistant

 LJ is the Assistant Coordinator of the KCP Program here at SVSU and is now a junior majoring in Theater with a minor in Communications.  LJ has been attending SVSU since her freshman year and is very proud to be graduating soon.  She is from the Detroit School of FIne and Performing Arts High School located in downtown Detroit.  There she studied radio and television for four years and was a member of the Mosiac Youth Theater of Detroit.  She is very excited to be a part of the KCP Program and looks forward to making connections and building new relationships.

Austin Myers - Program Assistant

Austin is a current senior attending SVSU and is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and minoring in Youth Services where he will have a certification in Juvenile Delinquency.  He is originally from Detroit, MI and aspires to return one day to share his knowledge and skills with inner-city youth while targeting young men of color.  Here on campus, he is a KCP Program Assistant, president of the Valley Voices Gospel Choir, and serves on the Board of Advisers as the Youth Engagement Correspondent for the My Brother's Keeper Initiative of Saginaw County.  In the community, he is a dedicated member of THe Nations Church in Saginaw and holds many positions in the church.
