If a support staff hourly employee accepts an Administrative/Professional position at the University, the employee will begin accruing vacation hours in accordance to the vacation leave policy for the Administrative/Professional Staff. Vacation hours earned as a support staff employee will be transferred into the Administrative/Professional vacation leave plan. The maximum number of hours to be transferred into the Administrative/Professional vacation leave plan, may not exceed the maximum allowed in the plan, which is currently 270 hours. Vacation hours accumulated over 270, will be paid out to the employee at the time of position transfer.
If an Administrative/Professional employee accepts a Support Staff position, vacation leave hours accumulated will be transferred into the employee's hourly vacation leave plan. The maximum number of hours transferred may not exceed the number allowed in the Support Staff contract, article 24.3. Any hours earned over and above the maximum allowed, will be paid to the employee at time of position transfer.
