 A number of scholarships may be awarded to qualified students by SVSU departments in freshman, sophomore, junior or senior years. Students are encouraged to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid on an early basis for consideration of these awards. In addition to the FAFSA form, a separate application is required. Applications, are available on the forms page.

 

Abou Traore Student Scholarship

Criteria

  • Undergraduate Returning
  • Full Time
  • Degree program student
  • Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • Preference consideration (in priority order)
    - Students from West African countries
    - Students from any region of Africa
    - All other students (including the USA)
  • Demonstrated commitment ot campus and/or community involvement
  • Demonstrated potential to make a continuing meaningful contribution to their
    community in the service of others following graduation from SVSU
  • Submit essay specific plans for after graduation to improve the quality of
    life for others in the world
