Call for Proposals

Proposals are being accepted for the 2012 conference, Equity in Education through Partnerships and Collaboration.

The theme, Equity in Education through Partnerships and Collaboration , is designed to explore various ways in which community partnerships help to foster diversity and to explore the ways in which diversity enriches these partnerships.

Topics to be highlighted at the conference include:

• Collaborative programs or partnerships that have increased the enrollment, retention and graduation of students from underrepresented groups in institutions of higher education (including pre-college programs)
• Curricular and extracurricular initiatives for making classrooms and workplaces more inclusive.
• Professional development programs/activities for faculty, staff, students and/or community members that increase awareness, knowledge and skills related to cultural competency
• Strategies to foster collaboration and/or partnerships between various communities both internal and external to centers of higher education.

Online submissions are being accepted for:

• 45 minute presentations
• 90 minute workshops and presentations
• Poster Session

Workshop proposals must include a title (10 words or less), specific topic(s) to be covered from the list above; three expected outcomes of the session, summary of the presentation or workshop (750 words or less), and an abstract of the presentation or workshop to be used in the program (25 words or less).

Poster proposals must include a title (10 words or less), and a summary of the poster (250 words or less).
