Meet Lauren Zion

a senior secondary education major, from Fenton, Mich.

In summer 2009, Lauren spent a month in Mexico where she did original research on the drug wars while engaging in an intensive language study so she can pursue her dream of being a Spanish teacher.

Writing and presenting my thesis (spring 2009):  “The Evolution of Spanish Education in America.”

Favorite Professor and Class

Oh, that’s tough; I would say it’s a tie between my freshman year Political Science Honors class taught by Dr. Erik Trump, and the English classes I have taken with Dr. (Daniel) Gates.

Number of Schools you Toured before Choosing SVSU

6-7

SVSU was my choice because:

“I was able to get a full scholarship; this has been incredible in helping me save a lot of money. Also, the campus is beautiful and the perfect size. Housing is the best I have seen from all of my campus visits to other colleges.”
