Admission Requirements

Master of Arts - Communication & Digital Media

DOMESTIC STUDENTS:

Please complete the Domestic ‌Application for Graduate Admission including the non-refundable Application Fee and the following:

  • A current résumé
  • A one page personal statement of accomplishments and academic goals- Statement of Purpose Form (608kB)
  • Official copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts
  • Three letters of professional reference
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or University with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of personal computer usage and application. Knowledge of programming is desirable, but not a requirement for admission.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:

Please complete the International Application for Graduate Admissionincluding the non-refundable Application Fee and the following:

  • Official copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Three letters of professional reference
  • A demonstrated knowledge of personal computer usage and application. Knowledge of programming is desirable, but not a requirement for admission.
  • Demonstrate a grade of “B” or better for at least one year of English composition or its equivalent. Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate competence in English. The College accepts a score of 540 or higher on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or a passing score on an alternative test determined by the College. SVSU’s English Language Program is available for students without a TOEFL score or those with a TOEFL score below the required minimum. Successful completion of the English Language program does not guarantee acceptance to a graduate program at SVSU.
