Two lesson plan formats have been included for Student Teachers . One plan has been adopted by the Elementary Education Department and the other by the Middle and Secondary Education Department. Unless a school building or district has a different lesson plan form, one of these forms should to be used during Student Teaching. Although a Cooperating Teacher may be able to improvise, calling on years of experience, a Student Teacher must depend upon careful planning, and also be sensitive to the responses of students and be ready to change approaches if it is apparent that the plan is not working.
A University Supervisor will expect to see a completed lesson plan at each visit, unless the Student Teacher is directed otherwise by the supervisor. Never is a page number or notation in a plan book considered a lesson plan.
Lesson Plans are to be available in the Student Teaching Notebook (including long range and daily plans) and be available at any time for the supervisor to peruse.
