Annual Reporting Measures

Welcome to the Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) Educator Preparation Provider (EPP) data website. The EPP is currently accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and in the spring of 2023 will seek continued accreditation. CAEP has identified eight (8) annual outcome and impact measures and requires all EPPs to provide data that can be easily accessed by interested parties. Additional information about the EPP is also provided.

 Michigan Department of Education Score Reports

The annual Educator Preparation Institution (EPI) Score Report issued by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is comprised of three measures: Michigan Tests for Teacher Certification subject area tests, survey data from candidates and university supervisors, and teacher effectiveness ratings for program completers.

2018 – Michigan Department of Education Memorandum: “Regarding the overall effectiveness of the EPP, “Every institution has been awarded the highest observed score (88.6 out of 100) … in calculating the 2018 EPI Performance Score.”

Impact on P-12 learning and development is not currently available.
The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is in the process of
developing flow through measures across P-12 grade levels hence, relevant data are anticipated to be available within the next 2-3 years.
