Learn how the NEW laws will impact Public Sector Labor Relations!

In December 2012, the Michigan Legislature made Michigan the 24th State to become a Right to Work state (effective March 28, 2013).  The new laws have implications for both the private and the public sector.  The seminar will focus on how the law operates and the impact of right to work on collective bargaining agreement administration and negotiations in the public sector.  In addition, the legislature has also recently passed a number of laws related to collective bargaining in the public sector.  This program will therefore also discuss how the legislative changes are being interpreted by both the Michigan Employment Relations Commission and the courts.  By the end of the presentation, those managers and human resource professionals who attend will fully understand how the law and the decisions are impacting public management and what the best practical solutions are for dealing with these drastic changes in the public sector human resources landscape in Michigan.
