Bill is no stranger to the campus of SVSU as he graduated with his Bachelor of Business Administration in August 2006. Throughout his undergraduate journey he was actively involved inside and outside of the classroom. He worked in several departments on campus such as the Financial Aid Office, the Ryder Center, the Bookstore, and the Academic Advising Office. He was also an Orientation Leader. He was actively involved in Student Life by being a member of Program Board serving as the President for two years. He was part of the planning process on creating events for the student population, such as bus trips to Detroit Pistons games, Cedar Point trips during Halloweekends, street festivals, movie nights, and major music concerts with recording artists such as Michelle Branch, Jason Mraz and Sugar Ray. His leadership and involvement was recognized when he was named as a Recipient for the 2005-2006 Michigan Campus Compact Heart & Soul Award.

Academically, Bill was selected to serve on the College of Business and Management Student Advisory Council. He was involved in five special marketing courses that partnered with local businesses to increase their sales in the Great Lakes Bay Region. Bill is currently in the process of pursuing his Master’s Degree in Administrative Science with the University Student Affairs Administration Certificate Track by expanding his knowledge of theory and practice in higher education.

Bill began his professional career by working two internships with two public organizations: SVSU’s Conference & Events Center and The Dow Event Center. Prior to graduating in 2006, Bill was offered a full time position at The Dow Event Center in the hospitality field as the Catering & Concessions Manager. In 2008, he was promoted as the Director of Hospitality & Sales. One of the highlights he had was personally meeting and taking care of world class performers such as Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Trace Adkins, Bob Seger, and Kid Rock to name a few.

After five years in the hospitality field, Bill always knew that his heart and passion was to come back and work as an administrator in the higher education environment. In 2010, he received his opportunity by working at the Conference & Events Center as an Event Specialist. This position, along with his previous experience, allowed him to build a solid foundation of customer service, program development, event/staff management, and marketing strategies. These opportunities would not have been possible without the foresight to embark on a rewarding Internship.

Bill joined the Career Services team in April 2014 and now he is able to achieve his passion by working closely with the students and alumni. By encouraging students to think creatively about their skills and past experiences, Bill can assist in helping them to define their passions and pursue their dreams while preparing them for their future career. Bill has established numerous employer relationships within the Great Lakes Bay Region over the years, and he can now utilize his connections and past experiences to help land SVSU students co-ops, internships and part time and full time positions.
