Name the Cardinal

After 40 years without a name, the time has come. This Cardinal needed a name and now he has one..... Coop .

The SVSU community was asked to submit names and a committee identified the leading names for our feathered friend!

The top three finalists were:

• Coop , submitted by Chelsie Peruski, a junior, and professional accounting and international business major from Ubly.
• Red , submitted by Jaime Huffman, assistant professor of nursing.
• Tenacious C , submitted by Bryan Janick, a senior, and criminal justice major from Tawas. Janick is a U.S. Marine Corps. veteran, and founder of the SVSU dodgeball team.

Other voting options included:

• Cardie
• Champ Ian
• Chase the Cardinal
• Colonel Clutch
• Courage
• Gilby
• Screech V. Cardinal
• Val (for Valiant or Val the Courageous)

Voting:

Beginning Monday, November 7 at 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. Thursday, November 10 at Independent Bank and the Cashier's Office during business hours.

To vote, deposit money into the container bearing your favorite Cardinal name. You can vote for as many names as you like and as many times as you want!

All funds raised will go to the Battle of the Valleys! The date of the unveiling of the Cardinal's name will be announced soon. Any questions, contact the Student Life Center at ext. 4170.
